Brothers Aim to Conquer Wrestling from “Post to Post”

By Chuck Phoenix

On Saturday, patrons at Germantown Gardens were treated to a pair of smiling, tanned grapplers with matching blonde perms. They call their tag team “Post to Post.”The team consists of the ebullient brothers BJ and Billy Bob (BB) Post, newly arrived from Las Vegas Championship Wrestling, where they had been five time champions. “We made it in Vegas, baby!,” says the younger brother BJ, who answers to Beege, “Now we’re here to clean up in the Bluegrass!” That tall order requires a tangle with the current titans of the tag division, George Pearl and Kentucky Kid. Post to Post challenged the title-holding incumbents on their first night in the promotion. “Yeah, we wanna go straight to the top,” BB stated, “and smack it in the mouth!” Manager Van Blocklinburg readily accepted the upstarts challenge on behalf of his charges. The notoriously finicky BCW crowd was lukewarm on the newcomers to start but after a few whirls through the ring with BJ and Kentucky Kid and a few slaps to George Pearl’s mug by BB, the crowd was behind the new arrivals. Pearl and Kid dominated much of the match, keeping BJ cornered and away from his brother, who anxiously stomped his foot waiting for a tag. The tag came when Kentucky Kid overplayed the acrobatics allowing his opponent to leap to his brother for a potentially match-saving tag. Pearl and BB hurled into each other for two minutes of savage slugging that wound up the spectators. Pearl got the upper hand sending BB for the corner and a respite. Pearl and Kid followed with some dirty dealing that the over-matched referee Frank Kincaid was unable to curtail. The end came when Pearl slipped a foreign object from his trunks and decked BJ. “I showed the Blondies their place,” the cackling troublemaker Pearl said later. “Back to Vegas with ‘em, I say.” For their part, brothers BJ and BB are not going anywhere. “This isn’t over by a long shot,” says BB. “Post to Post, that’s how we roll. We’ve seen plenty of low down dirty dealers in Nevada. This one (Pearl) will get his, I guarantee it.” Will the George Pearl and Kentucky Kid finally receive the beating they deserve at the hands of the former Vegas champions? We shall see. A rematch is scheduled at BCW’s Fight for Freedom on July 2nd.
